New Novel Title

I've changed the title of my book ... again. (Get used to it!) For right now I'm going with The Secret of Mulberry Woods. What do you think? Better? Worse?

Also, just for fun, I created a book cover--I am such a geek, I know. Here it is:

As you might have noticed, I put my actual name on the cover, rather than using Lei as my pseudonym. Would you choose a book based on the name of the author?

Seriously though, this model looks exactly like how I picture my main female lead.

  1. It used to be called Delusions of Dryads (in case you couldn't remember).

  2. I wouldn't not read a book because of the authors name. And I like the cover and title. The title fits with the plot summary...

  4. I like the new title more. I can pronounce it better. I think Tiana Lei sounds a little cooler but there is nothing wrong with Tiana Smith. I wouldn't not read a book because of the authors name. Tiana Lei is a little more catchy-ish I guess. :) I know I know, catchy-ish is not a word. Deal with it ;) I really like the cover too! I can't wait to read the finished product one day!

  5. Lol, one day! I agree, Lei is catchier, but would people know how to pronounce it? I mean, Tiana is hard enough on it's own ... :) So far all the comments on the title (through Facebook, email, blog) have all been good. (Except one), so I guess it's a hit over all.

  6. Hey! I buy books based on the name of the author only when the authors name is "Robert Jordan".

  7. Wow, nice cover! Pictures under copyright are the best, aren't they? Hope it doesn't get taken down.

I like when an author's name matches the mood of the book, but I guess that's not always possible. Although, Smith will bring up more results on search engines ( I mean, not pertaining to you) Lei is probably the more unique choice. But Tiana is unique in itself, so I guess it's really up to you.

  8. I love that cover and title Tiana - so much better. I'd pick this up for the cover alone.
